Enjoy A Tranquil Camino on the Camino de Santiago Ingles.

The Camino Ingles, also known as the English Way, is a popular yet less crowded alternative to the last 100km of the Camino Frances or Portuguese. The Camino begins in either Ferrol or A Coruna on the North-western coast of Spain and offers a cultural journey through nature in a shorter pilgrim journey. The journey from Ferrol is 119km and 75 km from A Corona.

For those of you who are looking to obtain a Compostela upon arriving in Santiago, only the Ferrol Camino meets the required distance.

The Camino’s roots lies in its popularity with medieval pilgrims from Northern Europe, especially the United Kingdom and Ireland. Many pilgrims would walk from their homes and take a boat landing on the coast at A Coruna or Ferrol before continuing on their journey to Santiago.

The Camino route meanders through stunning rural landscapes, magical woodlands and charming villages of Galicia. A warm welcome and wonderful cuisine is to be found from the Galician residents in the major towns and stopping places on the route which are the medieval towns of Pontedueme and Betanos, Hospital de Bruma and Sigueiro before reaching the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

This Camino is perfect for those short on time as it can be walked within 5 to 6 days. As the route is quieter than the more popular Caminos, you find peace and tranquillity are your companion on this Camino.
